Coral Summary

Finisco Knowledge Solution's Analytical Library (Coral) consists of a range of predictive analytics algorithms that are adaptable, scalable and resilient together with the necessary tools to incorporate them into applications at server level across various technical platforms. These algorithms use cutting edge data mining and deployment technologies to deliver business benefits and associated Return On Investment (ROI).

All algorithms provided by Finisco Knowledge Solution's are already proven and mature. The algorithms provided by Finisco Knowledge Solution's have been delivered through research and development over the past ten years in conjunction with a number of university research departments.

Finisco Knowledge Solution's Chief Technical Officer, Dr Sarabjot Singh Anand is a leading academic in data mining who lectures and leads a data mining research team at the faculty of informatics at University of Ulster.

The core to Finisco Knowledge Solution's business is Finisco Knowledge Solution'sAnalytical Library (Coral), which consists of a range of predictive analytics algorithms that are adaptable, scalable and resilient together with the necessary tools to incorporate them into applications at server level across various technical platforms. These algorithms use cutting edge data mining and deployment technologies to deliver key business benefits and associated Return On Investments (ROI).

Our algorithms are already successfully deployed in Finisco Knowledge Solution's own Capri software, which enables sophisticated multivariate sequence pattern analysis. Capri is sold as a valued added module within the SPSS Clementine™ Data Mining product. Finisco Knowledge Solutions has developed an Analytical Valuation Engine called PAVE, using Genna, designed for predicting product prices based on a proven hybrid methodology using nearest neighbour and genetic models.

Coral Uniqueness

Corals data mining components have been developed with integration in mind. The Coral development team are participants on standards committees including the Predictive Modelling Markup Language (PMML) and the Java Data Mining API (JDMAPI). All data mining components that generate models that can be represented in PMML provide import/export facility from/to PMML.

Those parts of the models that are currently not supported by PMML are represented in XML. CORAL will also be an early adopter of the JDMAPI, which is currently under development as part of the Java Community Process, when it is released. When these developments are technically interesting, the key reason for CORAL actively supporting these standards are to provide its users with the business benefits of speed of solution delivery and the ease and resulting lower costs of integration within their IT infrastructure.

Parallelisability
As data volumes continue to swell the speed with which data mining algorithms can analyse the data will be critical. With this in mind the data mining components within CORAL have been design with parallel execution and distributed computing in mind. This fact, coupled with the standards compliance of these components, makes the development and delivery of data mining solutions tailored to the customers needs possible and efficient.

Coral Key Features

CORAL has been developed using open standards like XML, PMML and JDMAPI (currently under development). Our development team actively participates in the development of data mining related standards to ensure that their benefits are transferred to our clients within a short timeframe from the general release of a standard.

• Cutting edge data mining algorithms for sequence pattern discovery, classification and regression tasks

• All data mining models produced can be imported from or exported to the Predictive Modelling Markup Language (PMML)

• Algorithms are scalable, parallelisable and can be applied to data sets ranging from a couple of hundred records to millions of data records.
